Dear Parents and Students,
The West Albany Equestrian Team would like to invite your son or daughter to be a member of our team during the 2005-06 season and we would like to give you some time for planning. Being a part of Equestrian Team is an experience for both riding and non riding members where we promote team camaraderie and work to improve the skills of both horse and rider. We train one time per week so you need to be able to arrange transportation for your horse or form a horse pool and be able to find time during the week to practice on your own. We train for performance in English and Western events and for team and individual gaming events. There are three district meets which begin in March and can lead to the possibility of qualifying to represent West Albany at the State meet in May.
In addition, riding and non riding members alike will be expected to share in team duties such as fundraising and all team members should be actively talking to potential sponsors. Sponsorships will reduce your costs and they benefit our sponsors with advertising. These sponsorships can also be tax deductible for the donor.
At the orientation meeting you will receive all forms and documents and you will be introduced to our coach Jennifer Paulson. We will discuss costs for each family, responsibilities, safety issues and expectations. Parent involvement is essential and we ask you to please keep in contact with the advisor and/coach. We hope to see you at our first meeting!
