Meet Your Teachers!


Mlle. Godby

Jacqueline Godby is in her tenth year of teaching French at West Albany High School. She has received a Masters in French and a minor in Economics. From Montreal, Quebec originally, French has been a part of her life since birth. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, exploring, and photography, and when she is stressed, she enjoys watching large bodies of water.

Sra. Cina

Carol Cina has received her BA, MA, and PhD and is certified to teach Spanish, Language Arts, and Math. She enjoys interacting with people and enthusiastically encourages her students to practice speaking Spanish both in classroom and home. She has traveled extensively, including flying completely around the planet once. "It's small", she says. She swims laps before school several times a week and spends most of her spare time reading and growing a huge organic garden. She has a lifetime of involvement in issues of environmental and social justice.

  Sra. Field

Cathy Field has been teaching languages since 1986.  Prior to teaching she was a licensed tax accountant for nine years and then decided to continue training in second languages.  She received her BA from Willamette University and her MA in Spanish Literature with emphasis on politics and history from the University of Oregon and is certified to teach both Spanish and French. Mrs. Field has been nationally certified since 1997 by the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages as an oral proficiency tester.  She loves foreign language and also speaks some Portuguese. When she is not at the school, Mrs. Field enjoys computers, working on her little farm, and horseback riding. (e-mail:  cathy.field@albany.k12.or.us)
